Wine Down Wednesday with a Bordeaux

Updated: Mar 19

French Bordeaux

It is amazing what you find on whim while strolling through the wine section of World Market. Today’s pick is something that is totally off the beaten path for us. This 2017 French Bordeaux by Chateau de Bertineau Saint Jean Lalande de Pomerol is from the Bordeaux region of France. Majority of Bordeaux wines are red wines that are comprised of merlot and cabernet sauvignon.

This full bodied, high acidic red wine is mostly made of Merlot and has notes of

bottle of wine

black currant and blackberry as well as floral aromas to the nose. This wine finishes smooth. It is best to decant this wine for about 30 mins prior to serving to release all the flavors of this wine. It can be enjoyed with a steak, pot roast, stinky cheeses, or roasted potatoes.

So, the next time you are in the wine section of your favorite store, do not be

afraid to pick up something new that you have never tried before. You never know that selection may become one of your favorite wines.
